Benefits of Organic Food

Some people never drank cow’s milk when they were young. The growing popularity of organic food reflects the development of people’s humanitarian ideals. People now care not only about the yields and benefits of traditional food, but also about the humanitarian and sustainable benefits of growing and raising organic food. Organic food has many benefits, they are very healthy for people’s bodies and adopt sustainable agricultural techniques.
First of all, organic food is better for people than conventional food. They don’t use any pesticides, so they only help the body, but conventional food may harm the body. According to the article: “Organic Food vs Regular Conventional Food: What is the Difference?” ,by Jasmine Burns, ” research funded by the European Union(EU) found that most conventional crops contain a high level of Cadmium, a toxic metal, and pesticides four times more often than in organic foods.” This means that organic foods are indeed safer than conventional foods, which may be harmful in the long run. Burns also said that when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, we need to select them from the organic market. All in all, organic foods are healthier than conventional food.
Second, organic food is a good way to protect the environment. In the past, people used lots of chemicals in farming and other production processes. That has made the earth have irreversible damage. According to Burns, organic farming helps keep nature in balance. In other words, the growing process of organic food is completely dependent on nature and does not pollute the environment at all. We should publicity sustainable development and need to understand that the earth’s environment is so important for us. All in all, growing organic food is more environmentally friendly.
Some people think growing conventional food is cheaper than organic food because they habitually ignore the natural resources the earth gives that are harmed with conventional farming. They don’t think damage to natural resources is important. In the long run, growing conventional food consumes and pollutes natural resources. According to the article “Reasons Organic Food Costs More” by Jennifer Chait, states, the expenditure of traditional agriculture to natural resources is not obvious, only in the tax and other aspects of the deduction. I saw an American movie called “Dark Waters.”
The film tells the true story of an environmental lawsuit brought by Robert, a lawyer, against the chemical giant DuPont that reveals decades of chemical polluting at the company. A review of the movie stated, “Even people as far away as Asia can be polluted by the dark water.” It’s the same as conventional food chemicals that have many bad effects on people and the environment. To conclude, there is no evidence that conventional food is better.
In conclusion, organic food has many benefits. First of all, organic food can protect one’s health. Second, growing organic food can produce sustainable development benefits. For me, I will eat organic food my whole life, not only for my own health but also so that my children and grandchildren have a good living environment. In the future, I will tell many people about organic food because the earth is our common home.
